BalabØ was a shortly lived funky asscore progressive jazz fusion-band project, which existed from spring 2012 until summer 2012.
The project was founded by the two session musicians Jonas Böker (Pohlmann, Lina May, Ben Galliers) & Ilja John Lappin (The Hirsch Effekt, Luke Mockridge, Mono Inc., Wirtz), who began jamming some drums and bass guitar-driven odd time signature ideas in their rehearsing space, which would later become something similar to songs in early 2012.
Heavily influenced by jazz, fusion and progressive rock and metal bands, they wanted to come up with their own take on music, where literally "everything goes". After a few sessions the two decided to form an actual band. After line-up was completed (adding their good friend and jazz pianist and keyboarder Christopher Baum) the band decided to give itself the name BalabØ, which has absolutely no meaning at all.

Unfortunately, the group disbanded the second they had finished recording their first EP.
Legend tells that the reason for the inevitable split was the ridiculous, impudent and disgusting manner and behaviour of newest band member Don Pedro, who had spontaneously taken over vocal duties for the recording session in last minute.
It has been told that the studio barely survived the destruction, dirt and loathing that Don Pedro behind.
When asked about their singer, the band yet admitted that they "actually had no idea where that dude even came from or how he ended up on this record".

Don Pedro has never been seen since the odd events that occured in the summer of 2012.

The one-time EP is the only left behind note and proof of the BalabØ songs that existed between 2012 and 2012.
They became obviously their "Greatest Hits".
